Tour The New Jersey Camp Where 'Friday The 13th' Was Filmed
Here's how you can better your chances for grabbing tickets to the next tour.
HARDWICK, NJ — You wouldn't associate the average Boy Scout camp with a machete-wielding lunatic, but for one Hardwick camp, it's the first thing some movie buffs think of.
"Friday The 13th," the 1980s cult classic movie about a murderer terrorizing a summer camp, was shot on location at Boy Scout Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco (or Camp No-Be) in northern New Jersey, leading legions of fans to ask, "How can I visit?"
For most of the year, the answer is a swift no; it is an active Boy Scout camp, after all. But on rare Friday the 13ths, the camp opens up official fan tours for those lucky enough to snag tickets. The next tour, on Oct. 13, will be just the fourth time the camp has been open to non-Boy Scouts (other tours were held in 2011, 2013 and 2015). Because tours are relatively rare, tickets sold out almost instantly.

"Unfortunately, the least favorite part of the tour for us are the hours following the ticket sales," volunteer organizers wrote in a blog post. "With over 12,000 fans interested in this relatively tiny event, there are going to be many that are disappointed that they didn't get a ticket. There's just no way to make everyone happy. All we can do is promise that we'll continue to work to get approvals for additional tours in the future."
While this tour might be sold out, there are ways to make snagging tickets easier the next time a tour is announced.

Tours and ticket on-sale times are announced to fans via email. Joining the Camp No-Be email is list is the best way to ensure you can buy a $120 ticket for the next tour.
Still want to celebrate the movie in the area anyway? A Blairstown movie theater is hosting three screenings of the film on Oct. 13th, but act fast — the 9 p.m. show is already sold out.
