ShopRite Nutrition: Healthy Halloween – 4 to 5 pm

Ages 5 to 8 Registration required

Monica Hansen, Registered Dietitian at ShopRite of Greater Morristown, will offer better-for-you fall and Halloween-themed treats.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2

Storytime

2 to 3 years – 10:30 am

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3

Spanish Storytime – 10 to 10:45 am

Children of all ages

Introduce your child to basic Spanish vocabulary with fun stories, songs and music!

Homework Helpers – 3:30 to 5 pm

Registration required

Two Chatham High School students will provide homework help for children in Grades K to 5. All subjects welcome!

Chess for Kids

Wednesdays, September 19 through October 24

Group 1: Players with little or no experience with chess

Yoga Storytime with Miss Jenn – 10 or 10:45 am

For preschoolers and their caregivers

Practice yoga poses to go along with yoga stories.

Blood Pressure Screening – 11 am to 12 pm

Stop by for a quick and free blood pressure check.

English as a Second Language (ESL) – 1:30 to 2:30 pm

Thursdays, September 13 through November 1

Registration required

This 8-week series of classes is for everyone who wants to improve their English language skills. Students are divided into small groups by skill level. Books and other learning materials will be provided. The program is free – all you need is a commitment to learn!

Comic Book Creation Workshop with Doug Baron – 6:30 to 8 pm

Grades 6 to 12 Registration required

Learn the basics of telling a story through a series of pictures. You will begin to think of each drawing as being viewed through an imaginary camera using different camera angles. Lighting, word balloons, sound effects and inking will be demonstrated as well. Doug will also help you create and design your own characters.

Watercolor Art Show Reception – 2:15 to 4 pm

Chatham resident Ed Schuh will show his watercolor landscapes through the month of October. Mr. Schuh has been a professional artist for over 35 years. He is the past president of the Art League of the Chathams, and a member of the Drew Art Association and the Essex Water Color Club. The public is invited to attend. Reception sponsored by Friends of the Library
