Philly Mag's 'Best Of Philly' List Features 8 South Jersey Restaurants, Attractions

SOUTH JERSEY — To get the most out of the City of Brotherly Love, you should make some stops in South Jersey, according to Philly Magazine's recent "Best of Philly" selections.

The magazine recognize eight establishments east of the Delaware River on its annual Best of Philly list — now in its 50th anniversary. Here are the restaurants, attractions and businesses listed among Philadelphia's finest.

FOOD & DRINK

Maria’s Bread Sandwiches

685 Haddon Ave., Collingswood

Honored as the "Best Friday Night Pizza Splurge," Philly Mag recommends the Angry Meatball or asparagus Alfredo pies.

La Morelense Plus

1127 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn

La Morelense Plus opened last spring, specializing in frozen streets and Mexican street snacks. Philly Mag honored the shop for "Best New Ice Cream."

Gass & Main

7 Kings Ct., Haddonfield

Dane DeMarco, who runs Gass & Main, was named a 2024 James Beard semifinalist. Their restaurant has now secured Philly Mag's honor for "Best Possible Version of Your Culinary Childhood."

"Chef Dane DeMarco works from a very particular palette when crafting menus, drawing on a thousand memories of street parties, suburban dinner tables and backyard barbecues," the magazine said.

Mount Masala

300 White Horse Rd., Voorhees

Honored for "Best Nepalese" cuisine, Philly Mag touts Mount Masala's Chinese-influenced Nepali and Tibetan selections — especially the sizzling momo or chicken curry.

The "micro-resort" from the owners of MudHen Brewing Company features a decked-out manor that sleeps 14 and contains a kitchen, bar and amenities that encourage entertaining. Philly Mag named The Hen Houses as the "Best Jersey Shore Destination."

Matchbox Road Museum

15 Pearl St., Newfield

Named "Best Mini Toy Museum," Matchbox Road has more than 60,000 die-cast cars and an array of Matchbox memorabilia.

Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation History Museum

500 Forrestal Rd., Cape May

The air station was once a training base for Navy pilots. Now, the "Best Aviation Museum" features a collection of historic war machines — some of which you can sit inside.

Boot Barn is the place for "Beyoncé-worthy Western wear," according to Philly Mag, which rewarded the store in its "Best Cowboy Boots" category.
