CAMDEN, NJ — A 19-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car driven by an off-duty police officer Tuesday morning, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.
At around 12:51 a.m., officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to westbound Admiral Wilson Boulevard and 16th Street for a crash involving a pedestrian who went into the road.
The driver of the vehicle was an off-duty Camden County Police Department officer and stayed at the scene.
A Delaware River Port Authority Police Department officer also responded and tried to aid the man who was hit.
Angel Saravia-Estrada, of Camden, was taken to Cooper University Hospital and declared dead at around 1:15 a.m.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office is handling the case surrounding the crash.
