Author Pat Pattan Talks with Seniors at Spring Hills [Photos]

The Jackson native shared pieces from her book, 'When We Were Growing Up.'

New Jersey writer Pat Pattan, author of When We Were Growing Up, shared nostalgic stories of childhood in the early decades of the 20th century during an interactive chat with seniors gathered at Spring Hills Cherry Hill on Tuesday, March 26.

Pattan, a resident of Jackson, filled her book with actual events and situations that evoked memories for the generations who were children before World War 2.

Pattan’s presentation capped a three-month program known as Enrichment Through Literature, when residents read chapters of the book together and organized activities that recreated happy memories of days gone by.

“Pat Pattan is an ideal example of a writer who gets our residents and guests to value the treasures hidden in their own life stories,” said Spring Hills Cherry Hill Executive Director Heather Tussing. “She reminds us of the amazing changes in our world during the lifetimes of our residents.”
