The authors of No Slam Dancing, No Stage Diving, No Spikes will hold a book signing at the Cherry Hill Public Library on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 7 p.m.
The book, written by Amy Yates Weulfing and Steven DiLodovico, chronicles the history of City Gardens, a lifeless, concrete bunker in Trenton that became a cornerstone of the underground music scene.
From Punk to Metal, from Ska and Reggae, New Waves and Alternative, if there was a band in the 80’s and 90’s that never made the commercial airwaves, there’s a strong chance they played at City Gardens.

Told through the memories of bands, bouncers, stage management, bartenders and fans No Slam Dancing is part history, part sociological study, and part legend. It is a document of times and events that occurred during the last great music age before technology changed everything.
Weulfing graduated from Temple University and has worked as a music journalist since 1985. She currently works as Vice President of Marketing at a business consulting firm.
