Camden City School District Changes Milk Vendors

The switch comes after a contaminated milk incident on March 30 sent more than 40 people – most of them young children – to the hospital.

CAMDEN, NJ – The Camden City School District recently switched to a new milk sub-vendor.

The district’s new milk subcontractors are Lehigh and Tuscan, "two brands are well known and established in the dairy industry," according to a letter the school district sent to parents.

Patch obtained a copy of the letter.

The change occurred several days after a contaminated milk incident on March 30 sent more than 40 people – most of them young children – to the hospital. Some of those children’s parents have since sued Guida’s Dairy/Guida-Seibert Dairy Company, which was the district’s milk sub-vendor at the time of the incident.

Guida’s Dairy/Guida-Seibert Dairy Company did not respond to Patch’s request for comment at the time the lawsuit was filed.
