10 Candidates Running For Cherry Hill School Board: See Who

3 seats are up for grabs, but 2 board members are not on the ballot to run for re-election. Take a look at who is running locally.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Ten candidates filed to run in a crowded election for the Cherry Hill Board of Education.

Monday marked the state deadline for school board candidates to file petitions to get on the Nov. 5 ballot. The Cherry Hill Board of Education has three seats up for grabs, with only one incumbent poised to run.

Board Member Quadsia Niaz will run to retain her seat. The board appointed Niaz in January to replace Jennifer Fleisher, who had one year left on her term.

Fleisher resigned from the board last December, citing that her husband, Dave Fleisher, was set to take office as Cherry Hill's mayor.

Board Members Dr. Benjamin Rood and Sally Tong, whose terms expire at the end of this year, are not on the candidate list.

Each school board term lasts for three years.

The candidate field is not yet final, as the petitions must be fully certified.

Early voting will take place from Saturday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 3. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
