Colorado Husband Confesses to Killing Pregnant Wife and Daughters

The body of Shannan Watts was recovered 3 days after she was reporting missing.

It's an ending to a devastating story no one wanted to conclude the way it did. Reports of a missing Colorado woman, Shanann Watts and her two daughters, Bella aged 4 and Celeste, aged 3 began surfacing online and across social media when she disappeared from their home after returning from a business trip. Interviews with her husband, Chris Watts show him understandably rattled, eager for his wife and children's safe return home.

On August 16th, her husband Chris Watts confessed to killing them all.

Chris Watts, 33 of Frederick, Colorado was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday and further details in this horrific story are still developing. Three days after Shannan and her daughters were reporting missing to authorities, her body was recovered at her husband's workplace, Anadarko Petroleum. A representative for the company says they are cooperating fully with the investigation.

At the time of her murder, Shannan Watts was reportedly 15-weeks pregnant and details as to whether or not Watts will be charged with the murder of his unborn child will be released soon.

It was released that the family faced some financial troubles back in 2015, filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Regardless, Shannan's social media accounts continually depicted a young, vibrant woman who loved her kids, her life, and her husband.

Not only has this story generated nation-wide coverage, but as it continues to unravel, the more emotional the story becomes for people all across the country listening. And understandably so. In the case of murder, each crime that is committed strikes a cord with those of us grappling with the news. When it involves such a devastating case such as this, with young children involved and a stark contrast to the kind of happy, joyful life a couple seemingly led, it makes the news so more overwhelming.
