Contaminated Camden Gas Contained 58 Percent Water: Officials
36 vehicles broke down or faced issues after fueling up at Conoco, officials said. The station is on a street that flooded last week.

CAMDEN, NJ — A Camden gas station's fuel supply contained 58 percent water after last week's rainstorm, officials said.
Several vehicles broke down Jan. 10 after fueling up at the Conoco station, prompting an investigation from Camden County authorities. The station is located on Admiral Wilson Boulevard, which flooded during the prior night's storm.
Officials confirmed issues with 39 vehicles that fueled up at the station, according to a county spokesperson.

Conoco faces a fine for an amount to be determined.
The gas station voluntarily closed Jan. 10 but must complete several steps before the county Division of Weights and Measures allows it to reopen. Conoco will need to pump out all contaminated fuel and remediate the inside of the tanks. The county will test a sample of newly delivered fuel and allow Conoco to reopen once that sample passes a lab test.
