Crash Kills Cyclist In Camden Co., Investigation Ensues: Police
3 people, including 2 pedestrians, died in separate collisions on Route 30 in Camden County since mid-September, per state records.
BERLIN, NJ â A crash killed a bicyclist Sunday morning in Berlin, authorities said.
The collision between the bike and a vehicle occurred just before 5 a.m. at Route 30 and S Franklin Avenue, police said. The driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene. The cyclist â identified as Nicholas Krier, 27 â later succumbed to their injuries, according to officials.
A preliminary investigation determined that the driver was traveling eastbound on Route 30, approaching S Franklin Avenue. Krier, meanwhile, was biking northbound on S Franklin Avenue and approaching Route 30, police said.

Krier attempted to cross over Route 30 â also known as the White Horse Pike â when the eastbound vehicle struck him, authorities said.
A witness told law enforcement that the driver had a green light when their vehicle crossed into the intersection.

Three people, including two pedestrians, have died in collisions on Route 30 in Camden County since mid-September, including fatal incidents on Sept. 14 in Collingswood and Sept. 29 in Barrington, according to state records. Overall, nine people have sustained fatal injuries from Route 30 crashes in New Jersey this year, including three drivers and three passengers.
The Garden State's portion of the federal highway stretches from Atlantic City to the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden.
