Medford Lakes, NJ Accident Causes Hospitalization of 21 Children
One of the school buses was parked on the other side of the roadway than the others, and it appears to be noticeably less damaged. This bus was driven away from the accident, but the other four buses required tow trucks. Reports indicate the five buses were carrying around 88 summer day camp students. 67 of the campers were uninjured, but at least 21 sustained personal injuries. These children were immediately brought to nearby hospitals, while the others were transported back to the summer camp to be reunited with their families. At least two of the bus drivers and one other adult staff member were also taken to medical facilities.
Police will continue their investigation into the cause of this crash. A determination about whose negligence led to the collision will play a major role in whether injured families will be able to pursue compensation for their injuries.
