Off-Duty Camden County Police Officer Saves Woman Being Attacked in New York

Ryan Dubiel saved a woman who was being attacked by a man who had just been released from a mental institution.

A Camden County Police Officer who was off-duty at the time saved a woman who was being attacked by a homeless man in New York this weekend, the New York Post reports.

Ryan Dubiel saved the woman who was attacked by Kwa­bena Nantwi, 38, on the corner of West 55th Street and 10th Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to the report.

The man had just been released from a mental facility prior to the attack. Once Dubiel subdued Nantwi, he held him until NYPD officers arrived, according to the report.

Dubiel drew his gun on Nantwi after several good samaritans attempted to subdue him, according to nj.com.

Dubiel was named the Camden County Police Officer of the Week in January after he arrested a woman who shot a man when he threatened her with a gun. The man was also arrested in that incident.
