The Katz JCC in Cherry Hill has received a grant to support vital programs for people living with Parkinson's disease.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Katz JCC in Cherry Hill has received a grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation for the second year to support vital programs for people living with Parkinson’s disease.

The donation, made through the Parkinson’s Foundation, will fund the Katz JCC’s expanded "Parkinson's Connection: Let's Move, Talk, and Connect!" programming. Continued support will be provided for Two to Tango Ballroom Dance, Yoga for Parkinson’s and Movement and Motivation Dance, while newly backed programs include Movement and Motivation Drums, Raise Your Voice Speech Therapy and Bring it Up, a monthly community support group. Each class addresses all levels on the Parkinson’s disease spectrum.

“We are thankful for the Parkinson’s Foundation and their funding of the Katz JCC’s Parkinson’s Connection program for the second straight year. We have such gratitude for their continued support and confidence in our Parkinson’s program and with this grant, we can continue to offer vital resources to the Parkinson’s community in the South Jersey and surrounding areas,” Parkinson’s Connection Coordinator Stacey Macaluso said. “Each class supported by this grant offers its own unique ways to fight back against the disease and enables for participants to build a close bond with fellow participants and fight back together. The Parkinson’s Foundation and the Katz JCC’s Parkinson’s Connection program are committed to making lives better for those affected by Parkinson’s, both physically and mentally. This grant provides hope for the Parkinson’s community.”
