Lourdes Offers Fall “Walk, Dine and Shop with a Doc”

Lourdes Cardiology is pleased to launch “Walk, Dine and Shop with a Doc.” During this free three-part program, participants join a Lourdes cardiologist for a:

• Walk at a local park and health discussion
• A presentation, featuring blood pressure screening, seated chair massage and healthy snacks
• A smart shopping experience with a ShopRite dietitian, discussing heart-healthy eating options while learning about important wellness information from a Lourdes cardiologist

Lourdes cardiologist Vivek Sailam, MD, kicks off the fall program on Saturday, September 23 at 8:30 a.m. at Rancocas State Park, located at 800 Rancocas Road in Westhampton, NJ. The schedule is as follows:

· Registration/pick up t-shirt & water bottle- 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

· Introduction/welcome - 8:45 a.m. - 8:50 a.m.

· Wellness discussion with Dr. Sailam - 8:50 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.

· Guided wellness walk - 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

Lourdes cardiologist Hafeza Shaikh, DO, will offer “Wellness Tips for a Healthy Heart,” lecture and question-and-answer session on Thursday, October 12 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Willingboro Library, 220 Willingboro Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. Chair massages, health screenings, and refreshments will be available following the lecture.

Lourdes cardiologist Geoffrey Zarrella, DO, and a ShopRite dietitian lead a supermarket tour on Tuesday, November 14 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the ShopRite of Burlington, 1817 Mt. Holly Road, Burlington, NJ. During the tour, Dr. Zarrella will discuss heart-healthy eating options and how they impact cardiac health.

Lourdes cardiologist Devender Akula, MD, and a ShopRite dietitian will hold another grocery event on Tuesday, December 5, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the ShopRite of Hainesport, 1520 Rte. 38 East, Hainesport, NJ. During the tour, Dr. Akula will discuss heart-healthy eating options and how they impact cardiac health.
