Music was in the air at Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living

Makhelat Beth Sholom, Temple Beth Sholom's Volunteer Choir, Perform for the residents

Music was in the air at Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living when Makhelat Beth Sholom, Temple Beth Sholom’s volunteer choir, serenaded the residents. The performance took place on Wednesday, May 27th when the choir sang a combination of upbeat Hebrew and Yiddish songs that spanned the many Jewish celebrations and holidays including Passover and Hanukah. Approximately 30 residents came to the performance along with some of their family members and the some choir member’s family.

About Mak’Helat Beth Sholom Choir:

The Mak’Helat Beth Sholom Choir is a volunteer choir from Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill. The choir consists of 20 members, is under the leadership of Cantor Jen Cohen and under the direction of Choir Director Robert Ross. Ross is the chair of the music department at the Community College of Philadelphia as well as an award winning published composer, arranger and editor. Cantor Cohen began her career as a touring singer in Nashville before she heard her calling to be a Cantor. She has been with Temple Beth Sholom for six years.
