Over 70 Supporters Gather at FIDF YL Shabbat Dinner
Young leaders turn out at Philadelphia, PA event supporting FIDF programs
Some 70 young professionals from Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey gathered on Jan. 31 in the club room at The Harper on Rittenhouse in Center City for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Young Leadership 2020 kickoff event.
The evening started with a cocktail hour and continued with Shabbat Kiddush. FIDF Young Leadership division representative Kimberly Klayman shared the history of the FIDF Young Leaders. After dinner, Ellie Levy and Elisha and Elliott Barry introduced Gadi Ezra, a former IDF combat officer and human-rights attorney, who delivered an engaging speech on faith, the humanity of war, and life on the battlefield.
“The FIDF PA/SNJ Young Leadership division is thriving. There was palpable energy from all of the young professionals, excited for the next FIDF YL gathering and eager to make a difference for the IDF soldiers who stand guard 24/7 to protect the State of Israel,” said FIDF PA and Southern NJ Executive Director Tzvia Wexler.

The FIDF Young Leaders who attended the event helped to raise funds for Project Overcome, an FIDF Program that supports troubled youth and helps to prepare them to serve in the IDF.
