Pedestrian Killed In Cherry Hill's 2nd Fatal Crash In 4 Days: Police
The incidents mark Cherry Hill's first-reported deadly collisions since March, bringing the township to 4 traffic deaths in 2023.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — A crash killed a pedestrian Thursday night in Cherry Hill, police said. The incident marks the township's second-reported fatal crash in a matter of days.
At about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle struck a pedestrian around Kings Highway North and W Ormand Avenue, police said. The driver remained on-scene.
Officials took the victim to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries, said Cherry Hill Police Lt. Thomas Leone.

The crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available as of Tuesday afternoon.

The driver who died in the crash was traveling on Route 70 West and crossed through the median in the construction area, authorities told Patch that day. The vehicle then entered the eastbound lanes and hit two other cars, Leone said.
The other occupants of the involved vehicles suffered non-fatal injuries, officials said. Nobody involved has been publicly identified, and police had no additional updates on the collision as of Tuesday afternoon.
Twenty-one people in Camden County have died from crashes this year, including four in Cherry Hill, according to state data. Cherry Hill's first two fatal crashes of 2023 occurred on Feb. 8 and March 13, respectively.
