Resurrection Catholic School in Cherry Hill Raises Money for Build Jake's Place

Students at the school raised money from Dress Down Dollar Day. The school donates to a new charity each month.

Students at Resurrection Catholic School in Cherry Hill raised $676 to benefit the Build Jake’s Place charity in September, the school announced Wednesday morning.

Jake’s Place is a “boundless playground” located at Challenge Grove Park in Cherry Hill, where children of all ability levels are able to play and learn together.

A second playground, “Jake’s Place Too”, is scheduled to be built in Delran.

At Resurrection Catholic School (402 N. Kings Hwy, Cherry Hill), students are given an opportunity to “dress down” on one designated Dollar Dress Down Day (DDDD) each month, in exchange for a $1 or more donation to that month’s chosen charity.

Members of the school community are asked to nominate a charity they would like to see benefit from a DDDD.

The faculty and staff then vote and one charity is chosen each month throughout the school year.

Build Jake’s Place was the charity chosen for the month of September.
