Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice names Susan Baratta Clinical Manager

Cherry Hill resident promoted to one of six clinical manager positions at Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice.

Susan Baratta, RN, CHPN, of Cherry Hill, N.J., has been promoted to one of six clinical manager positions at Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, a Marlton-based not-for-profit organization.

In her new position, Baratta oversees a team of nurses who provide hospice care to patients in their home, assisted living facility, nursing home or other residence in the community. She also has direct responsibility for leading Samaritan’s on-call nursing team who care for patients with urgent needs during overnight hours.

Baratta joined Samaritan in 2005 as a palliative care nurse liaison. In this role she functioned as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team who assisted patients with managing symptoms such pain and shortness of breath related to their disease or treatment for the disease. She also has worked at Samaritan’s inpatient program at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly, and served as a Samaritan on-call nurse for nine years.

A certified hospice and palliative care nurse since 2010, Baratta earned her associate’s degree in nursing from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Blackwood.

Baratta is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
