South Jersey Pops Presents Triumphs Musically in “Symphonic Fest"
Works from Mozart, Broadway and Film Will be Featured During the Orchestra's Spring Concert May 20 at Lenape High School
The victories of life – large, small, from the stage and on the big screen – will come to grand musical life when the South Jersey Pops orchestra presents “Symphonic Festival” May 20, 2018, at Lenape High School. The region’s all volunteer, nonprofit orchestra, under the baton of Robert Bradshaw, will be joined by guest vocalist Charlie Hannagan.
Crowd-pleasing selections in “Symphonic Festival” include Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, which celebrates King George II's declaration of peace in 1748; To Life from "Fiddler on the Roof"; John Williams’ triumphant Throne Room from "Star Wars: A New Hope"; Topsy Turvy from Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame"; and classic works from Mozart and Brahms, among others.
Robert Bradshaw, who was named music director in 2017, is founder and director of the Haddonfield School of Music. He has been directing musical ensembles for more than 15 years. Singer/musician/songwriter Charlie Hannagan hails from Wilmington, Delaware. With a pleasingly fluid vocal range, his repertoire includes Top 40 hits, soul and funk tunes from the 70s and 80s, the hits of the 60s, and updated renditions of some favorite Frank Sinatra standards.
