PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A community festival was cut short Saturday night because of "public safety concerns," according to Pennsauken officials.

Pennsauken Township was hosting its Summer Kick Off — a gathering featuring family entertainment, food trucks and fireworks. But the event was cut short.

"On the advice of Pennsauken's Office of Emergency Management and our first responders, Township Administration has made the decision to end this year's Summer Kick Off, early," the township announced on its Facebook page. "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the safety of our residents and the overall community comes first. We appreciate your understanding in this matter."
