West Boys Basketball Knocked from Playoffs by Shawnee

The Lions get 16 points from Rodney Williams, but a fourth-quarter rally falls short.

Cherry Hill West’s boys nearly pulled off the comeback of comebacks against Shawnee in the first round of the South Jerey, Group 4 basketball tournament Monday night.

Down 17 heading into the fourth quarter, the No. 14-seeded Lions put together an offensive surge and pulled as close as six points of the Renegades’ lead, only to have Shawnee’s defense rise up and end the rally late in the game and eliminate West, 59-46.

Rodney Williams was the top scorer for both teams, leading West with 16 points, and Elijah Bey and Will Plenty each added eight points.
