• Three-alarm fire damages townhouse attic in Morris County; no injuries reported (wrnjradio.com) — Chester firefighters were among several Morris County departments called to a three-alarm townhouse fire in Randolph that heavily damaged an attic but caused no injuries. Crews from Randolph, Roxbury, Netcong, Picatinny Arsenal, Chester, and Mendham Township contained the blaze to the attic area in about 45 minutes, and the cause remains under investigation.
