104-Piece Art Exhibit Coming To Rowan College At Burlington County
The exhibit runs Sept. 21-Oct. 28, with an Opening Reception on Oct. 8.

The Abstract Encounters II Exhibit will showcase the talents of over 43 Rowan College at Burlington County students, faculty, alumni and community members, the college said Wednesday morning.
The exhibit opens Sept. 21 at the college’s Student Art Gallery in downtown Mount Holly, and runs through Friday, Oct. 28.
An Opening Reception will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m.-3 p.m., in the Student Art Gallery on 1 High Street. The reception and exhibit are free to the public.

The abstract topic is considered to be any art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors and textures. The exhibit features 104 pieces including jewelry, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing and photography.
The exhibit was curated by Jessica Kane, campus curator.

- Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 3 p.m.;
- Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m.; and
- the second Saturday of the month from noon to 3 p.m.
Rowan College at Burlington County’s Student Art Gallery is a part of the college’s transformation plan to create a modern campus experience.
The plan calls for a larger arts presence in Mount Holly by moving the gallery to a more prominent location at the front of the college’s Mount Holly Center.
The college’s fine arts studio, graphic design and fashion design programs will move to Mount Holly, joining the existing culinary arts programs in the fall of 2017.
