3/1 Is 3+1 Day At Rowan College At Burlington County

The celebration of the college's innovative program will be highlighted by a cake-cutting ceremony.

Rowan College at Burlington County is dedicating an entire day to a program it says has helped it increase its enrollment each of the last three semesters. Thursday, March 1 (3/1), is “3+1 Day,” the college announced on Monday.

In spring of 2017, Rowan College at Burlington County became the first community college in this region of the country to offer junior-year courses. Today, about 700 students have committed to the 3+1 program, which currently offers bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice, biology, nursing, computing and informatics, liberal studies and psychology.

The inaugural 3+1 Day celebrates Rowan College at Burlington County’s groundbreaking 3+1 program that allows students to save $75,000 while completing an RCBC associate degree and Rowan University bachelor’s degree.

The day highlight of the day will be a cake cutting ceremony at 12:31 p.m. at the college’s Mount Laurel Campus on the first floor of the new Student Success Center, 1500 College Circle.

Enrollment at Rowan College at Burlington County increased by 3 percent this spring, according to Burlington County Freeholder Deputy Director Linda Hughes and Rowan College at Burlington County Acting President Michael Cioce.

It is the third consecutive semester of enrollment growth as the innovative 3+1 program continues to have an immediate impact with students and parents throughout the county and region, according to the college.
