NJ Officer Misused Police Computers For Information, Prosecutor Says

Ball was researching three people.

VINELAND, NJ — A Vineland Police patrol officer misused department computers to look up information about three people, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said.

Timothy Ball, 34, of Vineland, was charged with four counts of computer criminal activity on Tuesday.

Between March 2025 and February 2026, Ball is said to have used an in-house system at the Department and the Criminal Justice Information System to research information without authorization or the proper level of authorization.

The case was first brought to the Prosecutor's Office after an internal discovery by the Vineland Police Department.

Ball is scheduled to appear in court on September 10. As of Wednesday afternoon, he was still listed as a current employee on the Vineland Police Department's website.
