On Friday, a relative found Vanessa Sturtevant, 60, dead inside her unit at the Sterling Glen Apartments on Eayrestown Road.

Through an autopsy, the Medical Examiner's Office learned that the death was a homicide, with stab wounds left to her head and neck, and blunt force trauma to her face and head.

Mutschler was identified as a suspect and found by New Jersey State Police in Hainesport.

He was then questioned at the Prosecutor's Office and later charged.

A detention hearing will be held in Mount Laurel before the case is prepared for presentation to a grand jury.
