PEMBERTON, NJ — A Burlington man is charged in connection with a fatal fire in April at a Pemberton apartment complex, <a href="https://nj.gov/njsp/news/2022/20220505.shtml" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">according to New Jersey State Police</a>. Newlin Evans, 22, faces charges of felony murder, aggravated arson and causing or risking widespread injury or damage for allegedly setting the fire in an Egbert Street apartment building, state police said on Friday. Camryn Powell, 22, died <a href="https://patch.com/new-jersey/cinnaminson/1-dead-1-injured-after-suspicious-pemberton-fire-report-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in the April 20 fire</a> and two others were hurt, state police also said. Evans used an accelerant to start the fire and then fled the scene, according to state police. He was later found at a motel in Mansfield and sent to Jefferson Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the fire, according to state police.
