Arrest Made In South Jersey Motel 6 Shooting: Police
A Pennsauken man was arrested after police say he shot a Philadelphia man at a Motel 6 in Brooklawn last week.

A 36-year-old Pennsauken man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 35-year-old Philadelphia man in a South Jersey motel last week, authorities announced.
Michael Suarez was arrested in Camden without incident on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Brooklawn Police Chief Shamus Ellis announced on Thursday.
Police responded to a report of a shooting in which the shooter may still be on the scene at the Motel 6 on Crescent Boulevard in Brooklawn just before midnight on Jan. 19.

Arriving officers found a 35-year-old Philadelphia man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated, police said. The alleged victim has not been identified.
Investigators determined that the shooter fled the scene before police arrived. Shortly thereafter, authorities released images of a woman who was at the scene and asked the public for their help.

Suarez was then arrested after an extensive investigation. Information about the woman's identity or what role she played in the events wasn’t immediately provided on Thursday.
Suarez was charged with attempted murder, witness tampering, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and certain persons not able to possess a weapon. Suarez was also arrested on unrelated CDS offenses.
He was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing. Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order he be detained or released with conditions.
