Driver Indicted After Crash That Killed Former Cinnaminson Teacher

Her car was hit "head-on" along Ocean Heights Avenue.

MAYS LANDING, NJ — A 28-year-old man was indicted in the case of crash that killed former Cinnaminson school teacher, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Jahin Alam, of Egg Harbor Township, was charged with third-degree reckless vehicular homicide charges after he hit the vehicle of Eileen Kusnirik, 87, also of Egg Harbor Township, on July 26, 2025.

At around 2:20 p.m., Kusnirik was driving along Ocean Heights Avenue when her car was hit "head-on."

Alam drove in the opposite direction of traffic, leading to the crash, officials said.

Kusnirik was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries on July 31, 2025.

Kusnirik also taught in the Galloway Township School District for 33 years and is remembered by loved ones for her pursuit of adventure.

According to her obituary, she and a friend walked every boardwalk from start to finish in the state of New Jersey.
