Cinnaminson Community Garden Takes the Heat This Week Thanks to Persistence of Founder
Did you know Cinnaminson has a community garden program? Thanks to Doug Sell, it has water too, this season! And not a minute too soon in this heat. Photos attached.
I met Doug Sell on my first night being sworn into the Parks & Rec committee in Cinnaminson last winter. A good natured, earnest guy with a handful of paperwork and documentation presented to the committee a timeline of his efforts to get a water tap put into the he had founded last summer at .
Fast-forward to June and Doug's efforts paid off for his garden plot and everyone's. A locked water tap is now in place ... just in time for this killer heat. (If you're not aware of the garden, go see it. It was amazing that—all last summer —gardeners literally carried their water from their homes.)
It appears there might be an open plot. There's paperwork at the park on the fence if you're interested.

But this is to applaud Doug and his co-gardeners. Much more deserves to be written about how this initiative actually improved the atmosphere of the entire park. Other good things "grow" when care is taken and that shows.
So this brief is really to accompany some photos I took of how well it's doing and to congratulate all of the gardeners!
