Cool Jazz for a Hot Night

Cinnaminson's first summer music concert countered the outside heat with COOL jazz. Here's a sample.

The  began with COOL jazz in a cooled auditorium on Thursday June 21.

After the mayor opted to so that musicians and listeners could enjoy the show in comfort in the auditorium, a happy crowd came in out of the sweltering 98-degree evening and enjoyed the Carl Letterie Quartet performing two sets of jazz standards.

Highlights of the show were two guest artists: vocalist Barbara Lester and 92-year old keyboard dynamo Dottie Watkins, both residents of the county.

Mayor Don Brauckmann opened the show by greeting the audience, which was a rich mix of young and not-so-young, celebrating the launch of another sensationsal summer of music in the township.
