Haiti : Still broken

The Haitians need our prayers. -

On July 30th, I traveled to Haiti not knowing what to expect.

Two years have passed and over millions of dollars in aid has been sent over to Haiti. With this thought in my head, I assumed at least some parts of Haiti would be repaired, but to my surprise, I was wrong. I could not see any signs of improvement. I saw a very broken country far beyond repair.

I did see that God was good though. Even though the country was falling apart, the people trusted in the Lord and held their peices together. I could see the strength of the Haitians. It was hard to ignore as I saw the people face each day, as a brand new day, not knowing what tomorrow could bring. The conditions they lived in did not matter because all that mattered was what that day held for them.

Unfortunately, there is a hurricane passing through Haiti right now. Hurricane Isaac is the last thing they need so please, please, whenever any one has a chance, please lift up a prayer for this country. This hurricane will raise the risk of cholera and break a country that is far beyond repair. So please, lift up a prayer for their safety and health. It is not the least, but the most that we can do for them.
