MAY is National Bike Month

Biking and Hiking in the area.

May is national Bike Month. The League of American Bicyclists is encouraging everone to commute to work, school, shopping by bicycle. New Jersey is ranked number 5 in the nation for bicycle friendly roads.

There are many organized bicycle rides this month—including Bike Eric, 5 Borough ride in New York City. A great first ride of the season on May 5, for the serious cyclist and a fun day for a first-time rider, Pedal for Promise is an event for all ages! Choose from three options—13, 22, or 50 miles—and ride alongside our middle and high school students between Medford and Tuckerton, NJ. All money raised will go directly toward experiential learning programs at UrbanPromise Academy, Camden, NJ.

David leads a Moorestown Walk of approx 3 miles on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Moderate pace. Different routes through Moorestown's historic streets. This isn't an endurance hike or a nature walk. This is a walk on suburban streets and sidewalks to stretch the legs after work on a mid-week night with good company and conversation. Meet outside the Moorestown Library. Leader: David Bicking, dbickin@yahoo.com
