At 8 p.m. tonight, April 23, someone stole our miniature collie mix puppy. Came right in our yard and destroyed the happiness of our five small children.

This little mutt was given to us by a stranger out of kindness and she quickly became part of our family. She wasn't perfect. She jumped in bed with us when we were trying to sleep. She would sit on top of the couch and bark at the neighbors who would pass by. She would lick my leg as I tried to dry off after a shower. But she was my baby.
And someone decided they wanted her more. Someone didn't care if she was already loved. Didn't care if my kids would cry themselves to sleep tonight. But maybe you, dear reader, will care enough to take a look outside your window. Maybe take a look outside your door. The little dark brown mini mutt your neighbor just got tonight isn't theirs. Her name is Coco. And she's my little baby. She's my dog.
