Weathering the Weather: Sayonara, Sandy!
Kathryn Conda shares her post-Sandy perspective and asks, where did *you* weather this week's weather?

This week, I had planned to pick your brains about your jobs... your commutes... and if you were ever lucky enough to work in Cinnaminson, or close enough that you didn't entirely DREAD schlepping to a far-away office each morning and evening. You see, Pete's very lucky. He's a Health and Phys Ed teacher at a school district so near, his Corolla isn't even warm by the time he pulls into his spot... I'm oh-so-jealous.
But after such a bumpy, dreadful few days, a local job chat didn't feel right. Who am I to complain when I have a warm, fully powered home situated smack in the heart of a wonderful, supportive town I love... with not one but TWO refrigerators packed with fresh-from-Shop-Rite groceries?
This week, Pete and I hunkered down to weather the weather together, prepared for the absolute worst. I was scared. Pete was not. He's brave like that. My St. Charles Place neighborhood suffered nary a flicker, and the two of us (dare I say?) enjoyed a few extra days cooking, eating and watching storm coverage. (And, ok, a little Say Yes to the Dress, too!)

We are blessed. Even if I do have to schlep to a 40-minutes-away job every morning in rush hour traffic... I just need to remember that. And, my job chat may still happen in an upcoming post! :)
Meanwhile, I hope everyone came through Sandy safely... and maybe with a little perspective. I know we did! Did you stay in town for the storm, or flee to be with loved ones? Any major troubles there? What about in Cinnaminson? My neighborhood was SO fortunate! We're counting our blessings and beyond thrilled to say Sayonara, Sandy! xo
