Burlington County Man Who Shot Man In Ear Indicted: Prosecutor
Malik Mayberry has been indicted on attempted murder and weapons charges.

A 19-year-old man was indicted on attempted murder and weapons charges after police say he shot a man in the ear earlier this year, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced.
Malik I. Mayberry, of Pemberton, was indicted on one count of first-degree attempted murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Mayberry is accused of shooting at a man’s head with a handgun while in the Sunbury Village of Pemberton Township on May 8, Coffina said. The man was hit once in the ear before fleeing back into his home.

The victim was treated and released from Lourdes Emergency Department at DEBORAH in Pemberton Township.
The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Lisa Commentucci. It was investigated by the Pemberton Township Police Department with assistance from the prosecutor’s office. The lead investigator was Pemberton Township Detective Thomas Lucas.

The indictment was returned on Thursday and signed by Coffina. An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Superior Court.
