Cinnaminson Fire District's Proposed Budget Passes
The proposed budget that carried a slight tax increase passed in Saturday's elections, according to unofficial results.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson residents showed their support for the fire district when they passed the district’s proposed budget over the weekend.
The Cinnaminson Fire District’s proposed $4,009,946 budget that included a 2.2 percent tax rate increase passed by a vote of 314 to 208, with five provisional ballots outstanding, according to unofficial results provided by Fire Chief Administrator William Kramer.
Roger Butler was elected to the seat on the Board of Fire Commissioners with 456 votes. He ran unopposed for the seat vacated by Harry Smith, who chose not to run for re-election to the Board of Commissioners. All results remain unofficial until certified.

The total amount to be raised through taxation is $3,286,486, which includes an increase of $70,521. It comes out to a $7 annual increase for the average Cinnaminson homeowner. The only increase is related to employment.
The fire district posted a chart on the Cinnaminson Fire Department Facebook page that shows the breakdown of what money in the budget is allocated for.

"This small increase is more than offset for homeowners and businesses through insurance reductions realized due to the department's Class 2 ISO rating, which places us in the top 3% of fire departments in the nation," the district said.
