Man Guilty In Murder Of Two Women In Willingboro: Prosecutor

A child was at the home when the women were killed.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A man from Lansdowne, Pennsylvania was found guilty in the shooting deaths of two women from Willingboro in 2024, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.

Junior Edwards, 39, was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree home invasion burglary armed with a firearm, one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

At around 4 a.m. on Oct. 30, 2024, officers with the Willingboro Township Police Department responded to the first block of Harrington Circle for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers found the bodies of Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54, in an upstairs bedroom.

Both were declared dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Edwards entered through a first-floor window that had been smashed open, authorities learned. His eight-year-old son, whom he shared with Catherine, was also home at the time but was not hurt.

Edwards is scheduled to be sentenced on May 22 in Mount Holly.
