Cinnaminson Football Team Falls Short in Playoff Semifinals

The Pirates lost to Rumson-Fair Haven, 49-13, according to nj.com.

The Cinnaminson High School football team never recovered from a 21-point second quarter in a 49-13 loss to Rumson-Fair Haven in the semifinals of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II playoffs, according to nj.com.

Aaron Elly scored on a 54-yard run and Nick Thevanayagam returned a kickoff 87 yards for a score for the Pirates.

Cinnaminson entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed and opened the playoffs with a 28-7 win over Bordentown in the first round.

Rumson-Fair Haven is the No. 2 seed, and will play for the championship in two weeks against a team to be determined.

Cinnaminson fell to 8-2. The Pirates host Delran Thanksgiving morning, 10:30 a.m., in the season finale.
