Cinnaminson High School Football Team Learns Group Classification for 2016
In which group will the Pirates compete this year?

Cinnaminson, NJ -- The Cinnaminson High School football team has a chance to make a run for a South Jersey Group 2 title again this year.
The NJSIAA released its group classifications for the 2016 season last week, and Cinnaminson will remain in Group 2, according to nj.com.
Groups are set up based on school size and location.

Teams in Burlington County often find themselves moving between South and Central, depending on the number of teams in each classification in that given year. The NJSIAA tries to have the same number of teams in each region.
In football, the largest schools are in Group 5, the next largest are in Group 4, etc., down to the smallest classification at Group 1.

Cinnaminson has consistently competed in South Jersey Group 2.
Last year, the Pirates qualified for the playoffs, but fell to Buena in the quarterfinals. Buena drops down to Group 1 this year.
Defending champion Cedar Creek is back in Group 2.
Teams qualify for the playoffs based on power points, which are awarded based on strength of schedule. Wins over teams in larger groups are worth more power points than wins over teams in smaller groups.
Cinnaminson competes in the West Jersey Football League’s Liberty Division with Bordentown (Central Jersey Group 2), Delran (Central Jersey Group 2), Holy Cross (Non-public Group 2), Willingboro (South Jersey Group 2) and Robbinsville (South Jersey Group 3).
