Cinnaminson Juneteenth Celebration To Feature Music, Food, Education
This will mark the 4th-annual joint Juneteenth celebration between Cinnaminson, Riverton and Palmyra.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Juneteenth events will take place throughout New Jersey in the coming days, including the fourth-annual celebration for Cinnaminson and nearby communities.
The Palmyra-Riverton-Cinnaminson Juneteenth Celebration runs from 4-8 p.m. Monday (June 19, the date of the holiday) at Wood Park (2321 Riverton Rd., Cinnaminson). The rain date is June 22 from 5-9 p.m.
Juneteenth commemorates the date in 1865, when word reached the last enslaved people in Texas that the Civil War had ended and they were free. Celebrations date back to 1866, but Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021.
