Cinnaminson Resident to Sign With Philadelphia Phillies

Jeff Singer is expected to sign a minor-league contract with the team on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Phillies’ youth movement continues with a Cinnaminson resident.

Jeff Singer, a left-handed pitcher who played at Holy Cross and Rutgers University-Camden, will sign a minor-league contract with the team on Thursday, the Courier Post reports.

Singer, 22, spent the first three years of his life in Philadelphia before moving to Cinnaminson, he told the newspaper. He pitched for the Camden Riversharks over the summer.

Singer is 6’0”, 200 pounds, and throws in the mid-90’s, according to the report. He graduated from Holy Cross in 2011, and pitched at Gloucester County College, Monmouth University and Rutgers-Camden in his college career.

He led Gloucester County College to a national championship and was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Baseball Player of the Year in 2013.

He was 4-3 at Rutgers-Camden last year, and 1-4 with the Riversharks this summer.
