Cinnaminson Schools Issue Statement On Coronavirus

Cinnaminson Superintendent of Schools Stephen Cappello said the district continues to follow standard procedures for preventing illness.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — After the Centers for Disease Control warned on Tuesday that American schools, businesses, and communities should prepare for the novel coronavirus, the Cinnaminson Public School District posted a statement with recommendations on its website Friday morning.

“At this time the New Jersey Department of Health does not recommend any further action by the school district other than following our standard procedures for preventing seasonal respiratory illnesses which include good respiratory hygiene, hand washing, the use of hand sanitizers, routine school cleaning, etc.,” Cinnaminson Superintendent of Schools Stephen Cappello said in the statement.

Globally, at least 80,000 people have been infected and 2,700 people have died from the new coronavirus, creating a global pandemic, according to the World Health Organization. It is spreading so quickly overseas that infectious disease experts and scientists warn there may be no way to contain it.
