Cinnaminson Township Committee Begins Budget Process
Cinnaminson Township Committee introduced the annual proposal to exceed appropriation limits and establish a cap bank Monday night.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The budget process is underway in Cinnaminson, beginning with a vote on an annual proposal that was introduced at Monday night's Township Committee meeting.
Cinnaminson Township Committee unanimously approved a proposed ordinance on introduction to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and establish a cap bank Monday night.
This is an annual proposal that usually accompanies the introduction of the municipal budget. It allows the township to increase its budget up by 3.5 percent over last year's final appropriations, as opposed to the 1.0 percent cap, and bank the excess.

The additional proposed increase amounts to 2.5 percent, or $328,287.78, according to information provided by Township Manager Eric Schubiger.
"This protects the township in the event of an extraordinary emergency," Schubiger said. "The unused funds will go into a cap bank that can be used in one of the next two years."

In all, the 3.5 percent increase amounts to $459,602.89. The proposed budget has not yet been introduced. The public hearing and final vote on this proposal will take place at the March 15 Township Committee meeting.
