Prosecutor: Crocodile Found During Drug Raid in South Jersey
Alexander Green and two others were charged, and ecstasy, marijuana, two guns and a crocodile were seized.

A three-month long investigation resulted in the seizure of many things, including a crocodile in a South Jersey home.
Investigators also seized ecstasy, marijuana, and two guns, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Trenton Police Director Ernest Parrey Jr. announced on Friday.
Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Hamilton, Lawrence, Trenton and Bordentown Township police, under the command of Lt. Mike Novembre, executed search warrants at an apartment in Bordentown and multiple locations in Trenton around 3:50 p.m. on Thursday.

In one of the Mercer County locations, investigators discovered a crocodile living in the basement. Animal control was contacted and removed the reptile. A small bag of marijuana was also found in that home.
Alexander Green, 35, of Bordentown, was captured outside a residence on Poplar Street. Investigators allegedly found Green in possession of $807.

Green is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession with the intent to distribute, two counts of possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a narcotics offense, certain persons not to possess a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $150,000 cash or bond.
Investigators then conducted searches of four more Poplar Street homes, including the one in which they found the crocodile.
At one home, Dawud Joyner and Richelle Ayers were detained without incident. Joyner, 34, of Hamilton, and Ayers, 35, the homeowner, were both found to have active warrants. Both are charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
At another home, they allegedly found 106 grams of ecstasy, two ounces of marijuana, a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a defaced .38 Special revolver and a black ski mask, two bags of ecstasy and a .45 caliber magazine with bullets.
The search of an abandoned home uncovered two ounces of marijuana a digital scale and baggies.
The search of a fourth home came up empty.
Investigators also seized cash totaling $1,880 from an apartment in Bordentown.
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was also seized as drug proceeds.
Novembre said the estimated street value of the seized ecstasy is approximately $3,180. The value of the marijuana is approximately $750.
