Dangerous Driving Conditions Saturday Morning In NJ

Three inches are possible in a Saturday snow storm. Speed restrictions have been announced.

Forecasters have increased predictions for snow accumulations during Saturday's storm, shifting from a likelihood of a light dusting to now as much as three inches in some parts of the state. South Jersey is now under a Winter Weather Advisory through 6 p.m., the rest of the state is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Speed restrictions have been announced on the Walt Whitman Bridge, Ben Franklin Bridge, and Commodore Barry Bridge due to the weather. The speed limit has been lowered to 25 mph in both directions on all three bridges. The footwalk on the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed.

Speed limits on the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway have been reduced.

The speed limit on the NJ Turnpike has been reduced to 45 mph in both directions from the Delaware Memorial Bridge to Southern Mixing bowl in Newark due to roadways conditions and salting operations.

The speed limit on the Garden State Parkway is also 45 mph in both directions from north of Exit 157 in Elmwood Park to the New York State Line in Montvale. Speeds have also been reduced in both directions from Southern Terminus/CR109 in Cape May to Exit 63A in Stafford Twp.
