Death of Man Found in N.J. Clothing Donation Bin Ruled Accidental

James R. Shay apparently died after he accidentally became stuck in the bin.

The death of a man whose body was found under a white sheet in a clothing donation bin at a New Jersey Jersey convenience store on Sunday has been ruled accidental, the Trentonian reports.

James R. Shay, 58, of Browns Mills was found dead in the parking lot of a Country Farm Convenience Store in Pemberton.

Investigators have concluded that Shay was tried to retrieve items from the bin when he slipped and became trapped in the bin’s opening, according to the report.

According to an autopsy conducted by the Burlington County Medical Examiner, Shay’s death was accidental, and the cause of death was compression of the neck.
