DELRAN, NJ — The Lightbridge Academy daycare center in Delran is now open for first responders and emergency workers in South Jersey who have childcare needs during the current outbreak of new coronavirus.

The academy, located at 5029 Route 130 in Delran, is currently open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Any first responder or emergency worker can enroll their children in the daycare center at this time, even if their children don’t normally attend Lightbridge Academy.

“They’re here for us, putting their lives on the line. The least we can do is open our doors to the community,” Lightbridge Academy Delran owner Vibha Weimer said.

Weimer also praised the teachers and staff who are working, allowing the academy to stay open for those who need it most. The academy accepts children who are ages 6 weeks to 13 years.

“It is our honor to serve those that are serving our community during this time of crisis,” Weimer said. “They need care for their children in order to have the peace of mind needed to go to work and perform their critical role in our community.”

Many daycares are closed amid Gov. Phil Murphy’s stay-at-home order, leaving many without care for their children. Child care has been deemed an essential service.

“We have met or exceeded all of the CDC requirements for maintaining a healthy environment including diligent hand washing, hospital grade cleaning supplies, parent drop at vestibule to assist social distancing and parent view cameras,” Weimer said. “ Lightbridge Academy has a Circle of Care philosophy and it encompasses children, parents, staff and the community. We are honored to be able to provide these families that are sacrificing so much and are working to take care of those in need. They deserve our love and care during this time.”

Those who are interested in taking advantage of Lightbridge Academy’s services during this time can call 856-764-1700 or email delran_nj@lightbridgeacademy.com.
